This species may be distinguished by the subangulate shape of the pronotum and pubescence of the abdomen. The colour is a dull black on the specimens examined. Bright (1987) records a mottled iron gray with a faint tint of brown.
Uncertain, possibly aspen and willow.
South-eastern British Columbia to Quebec and south to Florida and Texas (Evans 1957, Bright 1987).
