The brilliant green elytra, sets this species apart from all other Chrysobothris in Alberta. The legs have a slight coppery tint.
Recorded from pine (Fisher 1942, Bright 1987). In Alberta collected on small diameter spruce, white spruce and lodgepole pine.
In Canada the beetles are found from northern British Columbia through to Nova Scotia in the boreal forest zone, and south in the eastern United States to Florida (Fisher 1942, Bright 1987).
