Adults have been collected from 1 to 22 July.
Medium to large-sized black species, with the hind angles of the pronotum and varying amounts of the lateral margin of the pronotum red. The body outline is robust but elongate. The third antennal article is longer than the fourth, with similar pubescence to the fourth, though this is more conspicuous in males than females. Length is between 11 and 14 mm.
Waterton to Banff. In North America, from southern Alaska to Oregon, east to Alberta and Idaho.
