identification
This is the only silphine in Alberta with branched elytral costae. The temples behind the eyes bear a row of long erect setae and the inner edge of the femora has a pair of ridges.

range
This is a species of western North America. In Alberta ramosa is found in the southern half of the province. The record for southern N.W.T. would suggest that this species also occurs in northern Alberta but this needs to be confirmed.

notes
Meaning of name: "full of branches; ramose." It refers to the branched elytral costae of this species.
