Found in aspen parkland and forested areas.
May through to September.
Workers are a dark red color, about ~2.0-2.5mm in length, with a very shiny head that has longitudinal rugae. The clypeus also has a median carinula. (Wheeler and Wheeler, 1963, and Creighton, 1950).
Not of concern.
Throughout much of northern Canada.
