Marshes, temporary or permanent ponds and still streams (Schmid, 1998).
Adults are small and the forewings are grey-spotted. The head is fairly elongated. Eyes and the cephalic warts are small and the vertex of the head is domed. Palpi are thick and relatively short. The pronotum is short. Spur formula is 1, 3, 4. This genus contains three species, all of which are Nearctic (Schmid, 1998).
This genus is Holarctic in distribution (Wiggins, 1996).
