Adults have a dark mesal stipe on the head and notum. The wings are brown with a light yellow arculus mark. The ventral base of the male clasper has a short triangular process and the harpago is very small, almost invisible (Morse, 1975).
Larvae feed on detritus and sponges.
Holarctic, south to Oregon and Colorado and east to New York.
