Small, cold mountain creeks (Alpine?) and rocky, glacial melt creeks with gravel to rocky bottoms.
Adults fly from later May to early June.
Adults are small, slender and dark beige to black in colour. Antennae are fine and not crenulated. Spur formula is 1, 3, 4 (Schmid, 1998).
Larvae graze on rocks fro algae.
This genus is Nearctic and East Palearctic in distribution (Schmid, 1998).
