Sloughs, lakes, brown water creeks with particulate bottoms, and quiet pools in high alpine passes.
Adults fly from early June to late August.
Adult wings are dark and finely irrorate. The head is not very wide, it is somewhat elongate. The eyes are barley protruding and the pronotum is short. The maxillary palp is long and slender. Spur formula is 1, 3, 4.
