| scientific name Pyrausta generosa (G. & R.) common name None Known habitat Undisturbed areas in Aspen Parkland and Mixed Woods. seasonality Late May to late July identification A dark brown moth with a wide, pale yellowish PM line and a pale yellowish discal spot, on both fore and hind wings above, with a wingspan of 18-21 mm. The genitalia are described by Munroe (1976). Similar to Pyrausta orphisalis, but the latter is smaller with a wingspan of 15-17 mm, has a less curved hind wing AM line, and it also has a thin, dark line running through the upper part of the pale yellowish forewing PM line. Also similar to Pyrausta tuolumnalis, but the latter has a whitish, rather than yellowish, PM line and discal spot. life history Unknown. Adults come to light. conservation Uncommon due to habitat loss from agriculture diet info Unknown, possibly one or more mint species range Known from Ontario west to southern Alberta and south to Florida and Missouri (Munroe 1976). The Type Locality is Pennsylvania. In Alberta, reported from Areas 8 (Red Deer) and 10 (Edmonton) by Bowman (1951).
