Lakes, ponds and areas of large rivers where the current is reduced (Wiggins, 1996).

identification
Adults have ocelli and the vertex have three pairs of barely prominent warts. Male antennae length are slightly over half of forewing length. The spur formula is 0, 3, 4. There is only one of three species of Agraylea in Canada that is represented in Alberta (Schmid, 1998); Agraylea multipunctata.

Filamentous algae (Wiggins, 1996).
